1. What resonated with you from President Obama's speech? What lines or phrases do you remember?
i remember when he said there was teachers that really care about students education. But we have to pay attention and put the hard work to sussed."Everyone has something to afford"

2. What were the three most important words in Obama's speech? What do they mean?

3. Is Obama inspiring you to do anything? Is he challenging you to do something? What is it?

4. Obama said, "no one has written your destiny for you, you make your own destiny." What does this quote mean to you and your life?

to me this means that you can do anything you want and no matter how much people put you down you can become something and you can make a different in this world.

5. Obama stressed the importance of working hard in school and contributing to your country. He also asked, "What's your contribution going to be? What problems are you going to solve?" How would you answer this question if you were conversing with Mr. Obama?

I AM POEM

I am magnanimous and friendly
I wonder if I’m going to make it to college
I hear my baby calling me mommy
I see him crying for his dad
I want to become a detective
I am magnanimous and friendly

I pretend to be happy even when I fell like crying
I feel the struggles of my mother
I touch my baby’s football gear of his teenage years
I worry if I’m ever going to graduate
I cry when you say I’m stupid for getting pregnant
I am magnanimous and friendly

I understand that I’m going to be someone in this world
I say what goes around comes back around, karma is a bitch
I dream of seeing my baby graduate and playing football
I try to get him everything he needs
I hope one day I can support him on my own
I am magnanimous and friendly

1. Has part of this book inspired you in any way? If so, how and can you give a specific example from the book that exemplifies this inspiration?

This book has inspired me a lot because her faster parents put her down called her name tolled her she was nothing, because she didn't have her parents.I know how she feels because even thought i had a mom i always wanted my dad in my life but he just walked out on us.

2. Did this book change your life in any specific way, or perhaps, cause you to think differently about certain issues? If so, what and how?

It made me think that even though she has a messed up life so far in the book she ended up making something of her life she taught me that's if she can do it so could I.

3. What do you think Cupcake's motivation was for writing this novel? What do you think she believes her readers will get out of hearing her story? Is she trying to reveal something, or just telling her life story?

I think she just wants people to know that it doesn't matter where you live, where you come from, if you have parents or not you could be successful in life.
